Apple may ship a 3G iPhone as soon as May 2008, a report claims.
The report in Spanish national newspaper El Pais cites claims made by a mobile software developer called SevenClick. That developer claims Spain's biggest mobile network, Telefonica, expects a 3G version of the iPhone to make an appearance in May.
SevenClick's unconfirmed report claims the news comes from discussions with Telefonica management, who were responding to an enquiry about the Spanish launch of the Apple mobile.
Telefonica will make an iPhone available throughout Spain in spring, the report explains - strong demand for the iPhone in the US and the European countries the device has already been launched in are cited as cause for the delay.
Telefonica is Apple's UK network partner O2's parent company.
